Circular
and infinite energy

What is
BAPU
ENERGY IS CIRCULAR, AND WE RECYCLE IT
Lead-acid batteries are considered hazardous special waste. That’s why BAPU exists—a non-profit organization that coordinates, together with authorized waste managers, the logistics for the collection and recycling of used batteries in Ecuador, preventing improper disposal from harming the environment and human health. BAPU complies with the provisions of Ministerial Agreement 034, issued by the Ministry of the Environment, Water, and Ecological Transition.
Ecovalor
ECOVALOR: THE VALUE OF CARING FOR ONE ANOTHER
ECOVALOR represents the contribution made by every actor in the value chain to finance the management model for used lead-acid batteries. This contribution must be clearly itemized on sales invoices for new batteries—sold by participating brands across the country—under the label “Ecovalor Batería.”
In doing so, we ensure transparency and full legal compliance in the operation.

TWO
Did you know that water pollution is one of the leading causes of malnutrition worldwide? When families consume contaminated water, they can suffer from diseases like diarrhea, which, when prolonged, leads to chronic malnutrition in children.
THREE
Ecuador
Ecuador is a treasure trove of biodiversity, home to some of the planet’s richest hotspots and holding 20% of the world’s bird diversity. It also hosts iconic species such as the jaguar, spectacled bear, sloth, howler monkey, and puma. Avoiding harmful practices is crucial for protecting its unique ecosystems and all the beauty they contain.
FOUR
Vehicle starter batteries are a perfect example of a circular economy, as lead can be infinitely reused. Moreover, batteries made from recycled materials perform just as well as those made from new materials.
FIVE
Thinking about the future means thinking about those who come after us—and they deserve a clean environment. Recycling is an act of generosity, a commitment to our children and to all future generations. It’s a minimal cost for a massive impact. For them, for us, for the planet.
SIX
Collective action is fundamental to improving waste management and achieving sustainable development goals. Taking responsibility for waste management is an act of generosity—a commitment to our children and all future generations. For them, for us, for the planet.
